Sound and garden intervention

 

Kostas Ioannidis and Johan Grimonprez designed a social space in the garden of the Openbaar PsychiatrischVerzorgingstehuis

in Lanaken. This meeting place in the vicinity of the courtyard gardens is built around a tree, equipped with several seating areas.

The sound installation provides a soothing effect and gives this place its individuality. The artists refer to the 'natural' meeting point 

in the atrium of the previous residence: a number of benches under the crown of a monumental tree.
